On My Own
Verse 1:
This world can be so cold
For those who follow You
You’ve made a place
Where I can rest
In your arms
Chorus:
Lord You’ve carried me
When I lose my way
And You’ve given me
All I need
And You’ve sheltered me
When trials come
May I never feel
Like I’m on my own
Verse 2:
How have I made it this far
You have always been there
Even when I felt alone
You never left me
On my own
Satan focuses his efforts on those who live their lives for Christ. You may wonder why your life seems so hard when in reality the reason you struggle is because Satan hates the followers of Christ. He has no reason to attack those who don’t follow God because they aren’t a threat to him. He knows that his time is short and he wants to keep as many people out of Heaven as possible. Job was a man of God who was blameless in the sight of God. To prove to the world and Satan that there were people out there who would remain faithful to God no matter what, He allowed Job to lose all of his family, friends, possessions and health. Through all of this, Job never blamed God for his hardship, even when his wife and friends wanted him to. Job never gave up on his belief in God and as a result, God rewarded him with twice as much as he had before. Like Job, God comforts us through the storms of life if we truly believe and trust in Him.
