You Are My King
Verse 1:
Broken and discouraged
Dropped beside the road
Left to be condemned by the world
Forgotten by my friends
I thought this was the end
I had no clue
Til I found You
Chorus:
You are my King
Who picked up all the pieces of my heart
You are my King
And I will praise Your name forevermore
You are my King
Victorious in all that You do
I love You and serve You
All of my days
Verse 2:
You fashioned me with shapeless clay
And formed me with Your hand
You gave me a love
I could never understand
And how could I ever find
The love I found in You
I realize it’s true
Verse 3:
There are many people
Who feel lost in this world
Who feel like their walking alone
They need the light You gave to me
O Lord please let them see
The light that shines through me
That they will know
There are many examples in the Bible where Christ helped those who were discouraged. John 12 tells the story of Mary, the sister of Lazarus. Mary had lived a rough life, but had come to know Jesus as her Savior and friend. Jesus had come to her rescue on more than one occasion and for that she was forever thankful. One example of this was when he saved her from being stoned by the Pharisees. To show her love for Him, she anointed Jesus’ feet with very expensive perfume. To those around her, this seemed like a very foolish act. But Jesus saw this as her way of honoring Him. Many people today endure heartache and face discouragement. Sometimes, it can even seem like you’ve been dealt a worse hand in life than everyone else. But like Mary, we must praise God through every situation, both good and bad.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
